Sonic identity for hospitality spaces

VOID creates immersive hospitality atmospheres through architecture and sound.

We help hotels, restaurants and spas create a consistent music atmosphere across lobby, restaurant, bar, spa, terrace and brand communication.

Not background music.
Not generic playlists.

A spatial sound identity designed around architecture, atmosphere and guest experience.

Architecture is not only visual

VOID Sound extends the architectural approach of VOID Architecture into the sonic dimension.

We design sound as part of the spatial experience: carefully aligned with the architecture, materials, light, landscape, brand identity and emotional journey of the guest.

A playlist curator starts from music.

VOID starts from space.

Designed by architects

Curated through music culture

Most music services curate tracks.
VOID designs atmosphere.

VOID Sound combines three disciplines rarely found together: architectural design, independent music culture and hospitality experience.

Through VOID Architecture, we understand space: light, materials, proportion, landscape, silence and guest flow.

Through OAKHI Records, we bring direct experience with contemporary electronic music, producers, DJs, curated releases, playlists and events.

This gives VOID Sound a clear advantage: we do not simply choose music that sounds good. We design how a place should sound.

The result is a sonic identity that feels connected to the architecture, the brand and the emotional journey of the guest.

We design the sound of the place

A hospitality space changes throughout the day.

Arrival, breakfast, spa, restaurant, lounge, terrace, late evening: each moment has a different emotional temperature.

VOID Sound designs a coherent sonic identity across these moments, making the atmosphere feel intentional, refined and connected to the brand.

The result is not background music.

It is sound designed as part of the architecture.

Selected atmosphere concepts

Every property has its own rhythm.

The following concepts show how VOID Sound can translate different hospitality environments into sonic identities: from alpine silence to Nordic forest retreats and northern urban boutique hotels.

Each concept includes a spatial reading, cultural references, mood rotation and a curated sound direction for different moments of the guest journey.

Case study / 01

Alpine Stillness Retreat

Mountain retreat in the Alps

A mountain retreat where silence, warm materials and spa rituals define the guest experience.

Our approach

For this alpine hospitality concept, we started from the emotional rhythm of the place: arrival from the mountains, quiet mornings, spa rituals, fireplace moments, dinner atmosphere and late evening stillness.

The sound identity was designed to feel calm, warm and protected — avoiding both generic spa music and traditional alpine clichés.

During the day, the atmosphere remains spacious and minimal, with soft ambient and acoustic textures. In the spa, the music becomes slower and more immersive, leaving room for silence, water and ritual. In the restaurant and lounge, the sound gains warmth through slow jazz, organic downtempo and cinematic low-tempo selections.

The result is a sonic identity that supports the architecture: stone, timber, firelight, snow and deep mountain silence.

Sonic direction

  • warm ambient
  • organic downtempo
  • slow jazz textures
  • fireplace soundscape elements
  • ritual spa atmospheres
  • deep winter electronics

Forest & Lake Silence Resort

Nordic eco-luxury resort

A nature-based resort shaped by forest, water, sauna rituals and long Nordic light.

Our approach

We started from the architecture and the landscape.

The sound needed to leave space for the forest, not compete with it.

The sonic direction was built around ambient Nordic textures, soft organic electronic music, cinematic downtempo, slow morning jazz and discreet natural sound elements.

The fireplace lounge was treated as a warm social space, with deeper textures and subtle rhythm. The restaurant allowed more movement in the evening, while remaining calm and refined.

We researched the relationship between Nordic electronic music, environmental sound, minimalism and the long tradition of atmospheric music from Northern Europe.

Instead of turning the location into a cliché, we translated its qualities into sound: restraint, depth, clarity, slowness and warmth.

Sonic direction

  • ambient Nordic textures
  • soft organic electronic
  • cinematic downtempo
  • slow morning jazz
  • minimal acoustic elements
  • deep listening atmospheres

Northern City Hotel

Urban boutique hotel shaped by local listening culture

A culturally sharp boutique hotel where architecture, city identity and contemporary music meet.

Our approach

For this northern urban hotel concept, we approached the building as more than accommodation: a cultural space with a lobby, restaurant, listening bar, rooftop and late-night lounge.

The sonic identity needed to feel refined and architectural during the day, then warmer, deeper and more social in the evening. We researched northern electronic music, ambient traditions, jazz-influenced electronics, dub textures and the relationship between remote landscapes and urban creativity.

During the morning and afternoon, the atmosphere stays clear and spacious: ambient, light jazz electronics and melodic downtempo. In the restaurant, the sound becomes warmer and more rhythmic. In the bar and lounge, the identity becomes more distinctive, with leftfield electronic, deep house influences, dub and listening-bar selections.

The result is not generic hotel lounge music. It is a sound identity that feels local, contemporary and culturally aware.

Sonic direction

  • leftfield electronic
  • deep house influences
  • dub textures
  • contemporary jazz electronics
  • downtempo cinematic
  • warm late-night selections
  • vinyl-inspired listening bar moments

How it works

Step 1
Spatial and brand analysis

We start from the place.

Architecture, interiors, materials, light, landscape, location, brand positioning and target audience.

We study how the guest moves through the space and how the atmosphere should evolve during the day.

Step 2
Sonic identity direction

We define the sound of the brand.

This includes mood, genres, references, cultural research, energy levels, no-go areas and the emotional role of music in each space.

Step 3
Playlist ecosystem

We design a playlist system for each area.

Each playlist has a function: arrival, morning, afternoon, evening, dinner, late night, spa, lounge, terrace, winter, summer, calm days, high-energy moments.

Step 4
Legal streaming setup

The system is implemented through licensed music infrastructure for commercial spaces, allowing the property to play music legally while VOID manages the sonic identity and curation.

Step 5
Constant refinement

The system is updated regularly.

We adjust mood, tempo, genres and seasonal direction so the atmosphere stays alive without losing identity.

Let the space be heard

VOID Sound is for hospitality brands that see atmosphere as part of their value.

We design sonic identities for spaces where architecture, music and guest experience should feel like one coherent world.
