The process of turning an idea into a physical space is a complex and rewarding journey. For the Jeris Hotel Sauna Repo, the goal was to take a traditional concept—the Finnish sauna—and reimagine it with a modern sensibility. This project is a great case study in how a well-defined concept can be translated into a functional and deeply satisfying experience.
The journey began with a focus on the user’s experience. We considered how to create a sense of ritual and tranquility, from the flow of the space to the carefully chosen materials. The concept of a quiet, peaceful retreat guided every decision. The result is a space that feels both familiar and new. The use of natural wood and simple forms creates a calming atmosphere, while the modern design elements provide a sense of luxury. This project shows that even a building with a very specific purpose can be a work of art.
